J'aime observer, m'arrêter sur les choses et les êtres pour les apprécier et les comprendre. Plus ils sont différents et loin de ma culture d'origine plus ils m'attirent et m'envoutent.
Étudiante en chinois en 1988, je déambulais déjà avec mon vélo dans les rues encombrées de Pékin afin de capturer des morceaux de vie. Depuis, j'ai toujours été à la recherche d'instants précieux dans les ruelles sombres de Bangkok ou Rabat, les campagnes de Shanghaï ou encore les rizières de Bali.
Il m'a fallu un long cheminent pour comprendre que la peinture était mon meilleur moyen d'expression.
Ce sont ces instants que je saisi et caresse de mes pinceaux. Je passe un long moment à traduire où la lumière vient poser son éclat et où l'ombre dépose sa profondeur. Savoir diluer les émotions des êtres, leur force ou leur fragilité.
Derrière l'aspect technique il y a l'aspect émotionnel qu'il faut savoir transcrire mais surtout provoquer.

I am an observer. My genuine fascination for objects and living beings have enhanced my understanding and appreciation towards them. Indescribably, the more of a cultural difference there is from my own, the more drawn I am to it. As a study abroad student in China back in 1988, I was already wandering around the crowded streets of Beijing in order to catch a glimpse of this frenetic culture. Since then, I have always been in search of memorable events, whether it be in the dark alleys of Bangkok or Rabat, Shanghaï's countryside or Bali's paddy fields.
It took me a while to realize that painting was indeed the best way for me to express myself, and let people experience these moments through my own artistic lens.
I take my time interpreting the light when I have to expose brightness, or depicting darkness when the shadow lodges its depth. With deep analysis and perception from a picture, I utilize my creative qualities to convey human beings' emotions, strength and fragility onto a canvas.
Besides the technical components that make up the big picture, there is the emotional aspect that art needs to transcribe, but most importantly, trigger.
